What's in it
- 1L IV fluids
- Electrolytes
- Magnesium
- Amino acid blend
Built with distance runners and cyclists in mind, this drip focuses on fluids and minerals after high-output days. It is not a performance enhancer and is not a substitute for proper fueling. Many athletes recover perfectly well with food and water; your clinician will tell you if that is true for you.
Often a good fit
- Recovery weeks after a race
- Multi-day training blocks
Skip it, or ask first, if
- You are competing under rules that restrict IV use. Check with your governing body.
- You are under 18, pregnant, or breastfeeding, unless a clinician has specifically cleared it.
In the chair
Plan on about 60 minutes once the drip starts, plus ten minutes of screening before. A nurse places a small cannula, usually in the forearm or hand, checks on you throughout, and removes it when the bag is done. You can read, work, nap, or talk to whoever came with you. Most people walk out and get on with their day.
