What's in it
- 1L IV fluids
- Electrolytes
- B-complex
- Vitamin B12
The honest name for a popular request. Fluids and electrolytes help with the dehydration side of a rough morning. They do not speed up how your body processes alcohol, and we will not pretend otherwise. If you are feeling unwell in a way that worries you, the clinician will say so and point you to the right care.
Often a good fit
- Dehydration after a late night
- Travel across time zones
Skip it, or ask first, if
- You are still intoxicated
- You have chest pain, confusion, or persistent vomiting, which need urgent care
- You are under 18, pregnant, or breastfeeding, unless a clinician has specifically cleared it.
In the chair
Plan on about 60 minutes once the drip starts, plus ten minutes of screening before. A nurse places a small cannula, usually in the forearm or hand, checks on you throughout, and removes it when the bag is done. You can read, work, nap, or talk to whoever came with you. Most people walk out and get on with their day.
