Questions

Asked at the first meeting, answered here first.

Questions about your own anatomy and history belong at the consultation. Everything else is below.

The surgeon and safety

Does Dr. Marsh perform the whole operation?

Yes. Every consultation, every operation, every follow-up. An assistant surgeon helps on longer combined cases, which is standard, but Dr. Marsh performs the operation and is present from first incision to last suture.

What does board-certified mean, and how can I check?

Board certification in plastic surgery means a surgeon completed an accredited plastic surgery residency and passed written and oral examinations in the specialty. A real site would link to the certifying board's public verification page. This concept's surgeon is fictional, so there is nothing to verify; a live site must make it easy.

Where is surgery performed?

In an accredited outpatient surgery center with a board-certified anesthesiologist on every case and a hospital transfer agreement. Overnight nursing is arranged for longer procedures.

What are the risks?

Every operation carries risks of bleeding, infection, scarring, anesthesia complications, asymmetry, and the need for revision, plus risks specific to the procedure. They are reviewed with you in writing before you consent, and they are the reason about one consultation in five ends with advice not to operate.

Fees and planning

Why publish fee ranges when nobody else does?

Because not knowing is stressful and invites pressure in the room. The range is the surgeon's fee; your written quote adds facility, anesthesia, implants or garments, and a year of follow-up. The number you see before you decide is the number you pay.

Is the consultation fee refundable?

It is credited in full toward surgery. If you decide not to proceed, or Dr. Marsh advises against it, the fee covers ninety minutes of her time and a written plan, and is not refunded.

Do you offer financing?

A real practice would name its medical financing partners here. This concept does not include one and nothing can be purchased on these pages.

How far in advance is surgery scheduled?

Typically four to eight weeks after the consultation, which allows for labs, medical clearance, stopping nicotine and certain medications, and a pre-operative visit two weeks before.

Results and recovery

Will it look natural?

That is the entire aim. Techniques are chosen to reposition rather than pull, to preserve rather than remove, and plans are drawn against your own younger photographs where relevant. The compliment we hope you get is that you look rested.

What about scars?

Every incision leaves a scar. They are planned to sit in creases, hairlines, or folds, cared for with silicone therapy afterward, and shown to you honestly at the consultation at every stage of healing. A procedure's scars are part of the decision, not a footnote.

What if I need a revision?

Minor revisions in the first year, where Dr. Marsh agrees one is warranted, carry no surgeon's fee. Facility and anesthesia costs may apply and are stated in advance. Revision of other surgeons' work is quoted separately after records are reviewed.

Can I have surgery if I am travelling from out of town?

Yes. A video consultation first, arrival two days before surgery for an in-person examination, a minimum stay by procedure, and follow-up by video with a colleague near you arranged in advance. Details here.
