Your experience, considered

Know the next step.
Take it in your own time.

From the first examination to the final follow-up, the process deserves as much attention as the procedure.

A considered journey

From curiosity
to a clear plan.

Your clinical team should give you individualized instructions. The stages below are a general introduction.

01

A complete eye examination

Expect measurements and a review of your eye and medical history. Ask when to stop wearing contact lenses beforehand, because they can temporarily change corneal shape.

02

A conversation about the plan

Review the recommended procedure, alternatives, limitations, risks, cost, and recovery. Take time to read the device information and ask follow-up questions.

03

Preparation that fits your life

Arrange transport, time away from work, help if needed, and your follow-up visits. Follow your team's instructions about drops, cosmetics, and contact lenses.

04

The procedure day

Your team explains each stage, confirms consent, and provides aftercare instructions. Numbing eye drops are used for LASIK; pressure or discomfort can still occur.

05

Follow-up with a purpose

Recovery involves examinations as well as how you feel. Your care team checks healing and vision, adjusts instructions, and tells you when activities can resume.

Make room for healing.

Recovery is a process.
Not a deadline.

Timing varies by procedure and patient. A quick improvement in vision does not mean that healing is complete.

At home

Rest. Protect. Follow the plan.

Use prescribed drops as directed. Avoid rubbing your eyes. Wear any protective shields as instructed, and arrange for someone to drive you home.

Early follow-up

Check healing before returning to routine.

LASIK follow-up is typically within 24–48 hours. Driving, screens, work, cosmetics, and exercise should follow your clinician's advice.

Ongoing care

Expect progress to vary.

Vision may fluctuate for months. PRK has a slower early recovery, and ICL requires its own follow-up schedule. Continue every planned review.

Worsening symptoms should not wait.

Contact your treating clinician promptly for severe pain, reduced or worsening vision, or new concerning symptoms. Do not wait for your next appointment. This demonstration cannot provide urgent care.

A little preparation goes a long way.
